Hi There! My name is Matthew Collat, I'm a Videographer and videos editor and this here is my portfolio.
On this page you can find some of the work I've done. While I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects my passion is coming up with ideas and writing.
I excel at seeing the worlds in ways others don't and also at coming up with unique and interesting solutions to problems. I hope you enjoy yourself as you checkout my works.

Corporate Wine Video
This here is a fake commercial I made of this wine company for an assignment. It was made in what was leftover of my very rugged home studio that I put together during COVID.
Makeup Demonstration
This is a demonstration video of how to do fake burns using makeup. It was done with a team of video production students in collaboration with the makeup students of Durham College. The goal was to help them make a tutorial video for their own portfolios.
Durham College Safety Video
This is a video I made for an assignment with the goal being to make a video that can be put up on the Durham College website to help inform people on how to avoid sustaining injury from various hazards caused by icy or slippery surfaces.
This was also selected as best in class by the committee that was selected to determine which ones they might use.
Tank Diggs- No Cap
This is a music video I helped make for Mr. Diggs. In this production I was the lead camera operator. It was also the first project I ever worked on for an actual client.
Imagine If Live Concert Recording
This is a piece of a concert I recorded along with a team of Durham College students. On this project I was assistant director as well as filming using the gimble in the middle of the crowd.
Mock Interview
This is an interview I recorded of my friend for an assignment. Everything in this is shot and edited by me.
The Tragic Tale of Pants Man
This is another assignment I shot from when we went to Parkwood. I directed, wrote, acted and edited this. I was a lot of fun making this one, it was also one of the most enjoyable times I did colour correction on a project.
The Man Under The Bed
This is a short video based on a silly idea I had. I made it for an assignment and I am very proud of how it turned out while editing this I taught myself how to better use reverb to make sounds appear as if they are coming from other rooms or directions.
Card Game Skit
This is a short skit I made myself, I wrote, shot, acted in and edited it together. It's just a brief comedy piece but I enjoy and I think it adds more representation of my own style of writing and editing.
Donut Edit
This short video is a piece I put together as part of a workshop in one of my editing classes. It was done in a couple of hours using only provided footage, the voiceover was done using a text to speech generator. I think this is one of my best pieces for showing off how I can find different perspectives.
